Hi! This post is about my trip to Berlin with my boyfriend. I'll share with you my favorite spots and my impression of Germany's capital city.

Me and my boyfriend really wanted to do a city trip alone. We decided to go to Berlin, Germany. Brussels Airport had been attacked ten days before our depart. My prayers still go out to the victims and of course to the family of the ones who died or got hurt. Two days before we had to leave, we still didn't know if Brussels Airport would cancel or displace our flight. I hated the insecurity because we paid a lot for the hotel and we would not get that money back. Luckily, we could leave from another airport.

My impression of Berlin
I like Berlin a lot. It's just an hour away with the plane from where I live, but it felt like a whole other world. Most of the Germans speak English very fluently and they're friendly. Everything lays close to each other and when you have to go further, you can take the subway. It's so easy! The food is not expensive at all. There is so much you can do! You can definitely say it has a hipster element. You can’t compare it with London or Paris, you get another feeling in Berlin. It’s hard to explain though. Paris is romantic, London is very alive and Berlin sometimes feels a little sad, because of the history but that’s not negative at all!

Travel tips (pictures below)

VISIT
Denkmal für die ermordeten Juden
This is the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe which is totally free! I definitely think this a must-see!

 Computerspielemuseum
This is a museum about computer games which may sound a little boring but it wasn’t at all! I went to please my boyfriend, but in fact I ended up liking it a lot! You can play lots of games like Pacman on those arcade cabinets. I played games the whole time, but you can also take a look at some old Apple computers and so on…

Berliner Dom
I just find this such a beautiful building! We didn’t enter, but I think you can for €5.

Madame Tussauds
I love this! It’s the fourth time I went to a Madame Tussauds, but I just have to visit it! Most of the time it’s very crowded, but if you go an hour before closing time, it should be okay. I just love to take pictures with the people I look up to. It looks so real sometimes and then I like to mess with my friend and tell them I met Johnny Depp.

The Berlin Dungeon
This was so much fun! It’s a journey through the darkest history of Berlin! I laughed and I screamed. They’re actors who each do a little play with special effects and it’s very dark in there so I was a little nervous. Also because they pick people from the audience to join and I hate that! But luckily, they didn’t choose me and it was very funny to watch at the people they had chosen. It was very nice and they offer English tours twice a day I think. I don’t have pictures because you’re not allowed to take pics, but you should check out their website!

Checkpoint Charlie
This was a crossing point between East Berlin and West Berlin, during the Cold War. You can take a pictures with the guys you can see on my picture if you scroll down a little bit.

FOOD
Valmonte
This is an Italian restaurant close to Checkpoint C. I really enjoyed the pizza and it wasn’t expensive at all. They were also very friendly.

Kantine deluxe
I wish we had something like that in my city, because this was one of my favorite places to eat! It was so cozy and they have a really original concept. You all get an order pad, so cool! The food wasn’t the best food ever, but it was very nice and very cheap! I loved this!

There are a lot of people on the street who sell hot dogs and they’re so cheap and yummy.
